High Pressure High Temperature Completions

High temperature, High pressure (HTHP) wells present unique challenges to oil and service companies. Drilling and completing a well at 4,000- to 7,500-foot water depths is no easy task. The depth requires wells to flow at increasingly higher rates without damaging the wellbore, which raise the wellhead temperatures. Completion of high-pressure/ high-temperature (HPHT) wells involves high-risk and high-cost operations with exposure levels among the highest in the completion sector. To ensure that completion equipment will perform safely and productively in specific HPHT environments, it is critical to accurately set operational parameters and performance rating requirements for any new equipment, define approved design specifications quickly and ensure that engineering feasibility work is accurate so equipment can be delivered as designed

By attending this training course, you will gain the following

  • Learn specific completion aspects of HPHT development during design phase
  • Accurately choose and implement perforating, stimulation or sand control strategies
  • Effectively select the right materials and metallurgy for HPHT conditions
  • Learn how to model flow performance
  • Learn how to include HPHT specifics into tubing and casing stress analysis
  • Learn how to produce well designs and outline procedures which is safe to install and operate
  • Learn how to define and manage completion fluid

Key Topics Covered

  • Planning for success of drilling HPHT wells
  • Locations of HPHT developments
  • Reservoir completion challenges – HPHT sand control, perforating and stimulation
