About Your Expert Trainer

Program Overview

Artificial intelligence is reshaping cybersecurity, creating new opportunities, changing the threat landscape and introducing new risks, vulnerabilities and governance challenges. For professionals working across governance, risk, audit, security and privacy, understanding these changes is rapidly becoming an essential business capability.

This four-day programme provides participants with the practical knowledge, judgement and confidence to understand cybersecurity and AI, evaluate the risks and opportunities they create, and ask the right questions of technology and business leaders.

Building on the established Cybersecurity, Risk and Audit Fundamentals programme, the course has been refreshed for the AI era. It retains a strong cybersecurity, governance, risk and assurance foundation while integrating AI throughout, including threats and vulnerabilities, governance, privacy, third-party risk, resilience and assurance.

The programme is practical and accessible. It is not designed to create cybersecurity engineers or AI specialists, but to develop the working fluency and professional judgement needed to govern, challenge and assure cybersecurity and AI risk effectively.

Why NOW?

  • AI adoption is outpacing governance, with sanctioned and unsanctioned AI creating new organisational risks.
  • The cyber threat landscape is changing, as AI strengthens both offensive and defensive capabilities.
  • Boards and regulators expect greater accountability for cybersecurity, AI, resilience and data.
  • Frameworks and regulation are evolving, including ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF and regional regulatory requirements.
  • Traditional risk and assurance approaches must evolve to address dynamic AI systems, cloud services and third-party dependencies.

Key Learning Objectives:

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamentals of cybersecurity, AI and generative AI and their business implications.
  • Identify and assess significant cyber and AI risks, threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Govern AI and cybersecurity risk using practical frameworks, lifecycle controls and clear accountability.
  • Challenge technology teams, business owners and third parties by asking informed, risk-based questions.
  • Respond and assure by understanding incident response, resilience and the roles of management, risk, security, privacy and internal audit.
  • Apply and communicate the learning through practical scenarios, executive-level discussion and an organisational action plan.

Who Should Attend?

Participants will leave with practical approaches and tools that can be adapted for their organisations, including an AI and cybersecurity governance checklist, AI and vendor challenge questions, assurance considerations, board-level questions and a personal 90-day action plan.

Delivered in person as an intensive, interactive four-day programme combining facilitator-led learning, real-world examples, case studies, group discussion and practical exercises. No coding or specialist technical knowledge is required.

Learning builds progressively from cybersecurity and AI fundamentals through governance, risk, privacy and resilience to assurance and practical application. Content can be adapted to reflect regional regulation, industry priorities and participant experience, making the programme suitable for South East Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Professionals and leaders who need to understand, govern, challenge or assure cybersecurity and AI risk, rather than configure the underlying technologies.

This includes governance, risk and compliance professionals; internal and external auditors; CISOs and security leaders; privacy and data protection professionals; technology and business leaders; senior managers; and board or audit/risk committee members.
