He possesses 26 years of experience in Power Electrics & Electrical Machines, of which the majority of his time has been spent serving the improvement and maintenance projects for various airports and airport operators.
He started his engagement with Johannesburg Airport, Airports Company South Africa in 1997 as the Head of Electrical Department where he oversaw maintenance, development and enhancement of all Electrical and Electronic equipment/facilities of Johannesburg International Airport (HT & LT); maintenance of Electro-mechanical system for runways, taxiways, visual navigation and generator sets for the Airfield; maintenance of Perimeter intrusion and detection system, all access control systems at JIA, Flight information displays, PA systems, Intercom systems, PABX system, CCTV systems, airport UPS equipment. He was also responsible for implementing safety policies and procedures that conform to local legislation (OHS Act and ICAO); while acting as contracts manager on various outsourced period contractors (19 specialised contractors) and providing consultancy works on various electrical reticulation works.
He leverages on his vast experience as a consultant for strategies in designing, installation and maintenance of Airport Electrical Power system including UPS, BHS) as well as ICT systems. Several projects he has been and is involved include:
